Role

Work effectively within your team to ensure your department always operates to a high service standard. Put the guests at the heart of everything you do.

Main duties and responsibilities

* Welcome and greet all guests in a friendly, professional and sincere manner following Company standards.
* Deal with complaints appropriately and report them to your Head of Department.
* Ensure all customer requests are responded to promtly and effectively.
* Maintain operational standards as set by your Head of Department and the Company.
* Ensure your task lists are completed.
* Demonstrate a high level of personal hygiene ensuring your uniform and presentation always meet Brand standards.
* Be aware of the business and help out wherever possible during busy periods.
* Know how to use and maintain all equipment and systems in your department.
* Comply with the rota system to Departmental standards.
* Following the order of work, being aware of any special instructions, and also thinking ahead to avoid lengthy "back tracking".
* Clean as you go, ensuring corridors and service areas are kept tidy.
* Carry out the "Job of the Day", as instructed by the Housekeeper.
* Understand the aims of the Hotel and your Department.
* Offer support to new team members.
* Attend and participate in monthly team meetings.
* Support Work Experience and Trainee Manager Programmes
* Put forward ideas for improving the hotel.
* Be prepared to assist in other departments and carry out other reasonable tasks and responsibilities outside normal routine but within the overall scope of the job as deemed necessary by the Management.
* Get involved with sales promotions and activities.
* Encourage extra sales to guests at every opportunity.
* Follow guidelines regarding the Control of Waste in your department.
* Comply with the Company Health and Safety Policy and the Fire Regulations. Be totally familiar with your responsibilities in an emergency.
* Always use safe working practices and report all accidents and hazards.
* Attend all training sessions whenever instructed.
* Ensure cleanig schedules are followed.
* Be aware of security and lost property procedures, report anything suspicious to Management.
